About Us

All local BSA Scouting units (Cub Scout Packs, Scouts BSA Troops, Venturing Crews, etc.) are a part of a District.

Along with five other surrounding districts, we are a part of the
Western Los Angeles County Council (WLACC). The “Campo De Cahuenga District” covers the area of the San Fernando Valley generally east of Balboa Boulevard and west of the Burbank city limits.

Among other things, the district provides community, common purpose, and support for local BSA Scouting units. The “District Commitee” is comprised of adults who maintain a strong interest in Scouting, with strong connections and commitment to enriching the lives of their children and other children. Usually (but not exclusively), these are adults with youth currently in one or more of the the BSA Scouting programs or adults whose children have outgrown the program.

Being active at the unit level does not disqualify an adult from volunteering at the district level — in fact, being active in a unit is advantageous, because it gives the adult volunteer first-hand knowledge of what the program can provide via the district committee.
